Profiling Probes

DHCP

Most effective for IoT - captures:

  • DHCP fingerprint

  • Hostname

  • Vendor class

RADIUS

Captures during authentication:

  • Calling-Station-ID (MAC)

  • NAS-Port

  • Framed-IP-Address

SNMP

Poll network devices for:

  • ARP tables

  • CDP/LLDP neighbors

  • MAC tables

Configuration

Enable probes in ISE:

  1. Work Centers > Profiler > Settings > Probes

  2. Enable required probes

  3. Configure probe settings

Discovery Workflow

Device connects → NAD reports to ISE → Probes gather data → Profile assigned
